The team offers you seasonal local cuisine, according to the inspiration of the chef of Italian origin. At La Claire Fontaine, you have been welcomed for all these years with authenticity and passion. Note also that the team is always at your disposal for all your wants and needs. Do not hesitate to ask for a vegetarian dish or to notify us about a food allergy. On the dessert side, you will be delighted to taste one of Muriel’s greatest specialties: The “coupe à la châtaigne”. A delicious preparation of chestnut ice cream, candied chestnuts, cream of chestnut and whipped cream. Everything is prepared on the spot with passion. You will have the chance to taste such a delicious dessert.
As for the delicacies of the region, you will no doubt appreciate a local one: the Patiences Fraixinoises. They are small round biscuits with a smooth and uniform surface that let you see almonds and hazelnuts through them. Of course, let’s not forget other local specialities such as chestnuts and chestnut cream.

LA GARDE-FREINET, AN AUTHENTIC PROVENCAL VILLAGE
This village in the Massif des Maures has nearly 2000 inhabitants and everything to please you. Located near the coast and Saint-Tropez, it has preserved its Provencal charm. With its streets, houses, squares, monuments, church and its old castle called “Saracens” and its windmills we are plunged into a rather old and picturesque atmosphere that many search for and appreciate.
That’s why many celebrities have not been mistaken and have come to live here. Some like the actress Anna Karina, the actor René Pousse and the writer and painter Serge Rezvani. Furthermore, Jeanne Moreau shot her famous film “Lumière” here. Today, the village has a community of English inhabitants in love with La Garde Freinet and Provence in general.
